Do agencies that rank for Florida searches publish prices? A 10-city survey

On October 17, 2026 we checked the 49 agency websites that rank for “digital marketing agency” in 10 Florida cities, and 8 of them (16%) publish a price for any service. Below are those eight, how we counted and what four other checks found.

By Donnie Strompf. Updated October 2026.

I’m Donnie Strompf. I run Good At Marketing, so my own site is in the count, and I mark where it appears. The figures come from the per-site table below, dated October 17, 2026. Later page changes are not reflected.

Key takeaways

  • 8 of 49 ranking agency sites (16%) publish a service price on their own pages. With Good At Marketing added, it is 9 of 50 (18%).
  • Published prices cover different things: ranges, starting prices, ad spend and website support. Compare what a number includes before you compare numbers.
  • 82% of the sites name clients on the home page and 69% show a street address. Only 39% state a founding year and 16% show a review count.
  • No ranking site passed all five checks.
  • A missing price on the pages we checked does not mean no price exists. Ask for a written quote with the scope.

How did we run the survey?

On October 17, 2026 we searched Google for “digital marketing agency” followed by each city name in the table below. For each search we took the first 6 organic results, leaving out ads and directories. Listing sites such as Clutch and Yelp were skipped, and so were blog roundups of agencies.

AreaCities searched
Palm Beach and BrowardBoynton Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Fort Lauderdale
Rest of FloridaMiami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville

That gave 60 result slots and 50 different websites, because some agencies rank in more than one city. These sites rank for Florida city searches, and some are based elsewhere. We read each site in a browser without clicking ads, signing in or filling in forms. Then we recorded five yes-or-no checks, defined in the table.

CheckCounted as yes when
Publishes a priceA dollar figure for a service appears on the site’s own pages
Review countThe home page shows a number of reviews
Names clientsThe home page shows client names or logos
Founding yearA page states a year, such as “since 1998”, not “20 years”
Street addressThe home page shows a street address

The price and founding-year checks went beyond the home page to the about page, any pricing page and first-level service pages. The other three checks used the home page only.

What did the survey find?

Of the 49 ranking sites we could check, 8 publish a price. The table gives the counts for all five checks, and the last column adds Good At Marketing, which did not appear on the first two result pages for any of the 10 searches. We list it as an extra row outside the ranking.

On our own site, the home page shows price ranges, names clients and states a founding year. It does not show a review count or a street address.

Counting by result slot instead of by site changes the price figure. Thrive Internet Marketing Agency ranks in 6 of the 10 cities, so 13 of the 59 checked results (22%) came from a site that publishes a price.

Across the four checks other than price, 1 site passed all four, 17 passed three, 17 passed two, 12 passed one and 2 passed none. No ranking site passed all five.

Prices change, so open each page and read the current figures before you compare.

Good At Marketing also publishes ranges on its pricing page. SEO is $1,000 to $1,600 a month and Google Ads management is $600 to $1,000 a month plus ad spend. Prices reviewed October 2026.

What does a published price tell you?

It tells you what the agency will charge for a stated scope. It does not tell you whether that scope fits your business. The eight pages above show how much the word “price” can mean: a wide range, a starting price, a management fee kept apart from ad spend, and a plan for a website only.

Before you compare quotes, ask what each one includes:

  • What work does the monthly fee cover, and who does it?
  • Is ad spend paid separately, and to whom?
  • Is there a setup phase, and is it charged on top?
  • What is the minimum term, and how do you cancel?

For a longer checklist, read how to choose an SEO company. If you are still deciding between hiring a person and hiring an agency, see in-house marketer vs freelancer vs agency.

Why do some agencies not show a price?

We did not ask the agencies, so we can only offer our view. In our view, a quote after a call is common because scope varies from one business to the next, and a price page has to commit to a range in public.

A missing price on the pages we checked is a gap in what a visitor can see. It says nothing about the quality of the agency or the fairness of its quote. Some of the sites with no price have clear, specific pages on their services, and a call is a normal way to get a number.

What do the other four checks show?

Naming clients was the most common signal. 40 of the 49 sites show client names or logos on the home page, which gives a buyer a business to look up. The street address came second, at 34 sites, and it is the easiest of the five to confirm for yourself.

Fewer sites state when they were founded or how many reviews they hold. Only 19 of 49 give a founding year, and 8 show a review count on the home page. Some sites use phrases such as “20 years” or “a quarter-century”, which we did not count as a year, and some sites point to reviews on third-party sites without giving a number.

These checks record what a site discloses. Quality of work needs a reference call, so use the checks to decide what to ask first.

What did each site show?

This table lists every site in the survey with its five answers, as read on October 17, 2026. Cities show where each site ranked. “Not checked” means the site returned an error page.

How can you use this when you hire?

Start with the price question, since it takes one sentence: “What does your monthly fee include, and what would it be for a business like mine?” Ask for a monthly price range and the services in it before you agree to a proposal.

Then check the signals you can confirm yourself:

  • Search the agency name on Google Maps and read the address and review count on the profile.
  • Ask for two client references you can call, in your industry or one close to it.
  • Ask who does the work, and whether you will meet them.
  • Ask for the scope in writing before you agree to anything.

If SEO is your main need, what to expect from SEO covers the work behind a monthly fee, and our SEO services page describes ours.

For the prices behind the comparison, see our guides to what SEO costs for a small business and what digital marketing costs for a small business.

The survey covers Boynton Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and West Palm Beach among other cities, and we work with businesses across Palm Beach County.

What are the limits of this survey?

Read the counts with these limits in mind:

  • It is one search per city, run on one day from one browser. Results shift with location and device.
  • It covers the first 6 organic non-directory results per city, taken from the first two result pages where needed.
  • One of the 50 sites returned an error page, so every check for it shows as “Not checked”. The counts use 49 sites.
  • The price and founding-year checks covered the home page, the main services and pricing pages and each site’s first-level service pages. Two sites showed prices only on a service sub-page, so a price on a deeper page of another site cannot be ruled out.
  • Four client calls are borderline: two sites with named projects or screenshots only, and two with clients named in a testimonial or a “companies we’ve helped” list. We counted them as yes.
  • A few founding-year calls are judgment calls. We counted a stated year, such as “since 1998”, and did not count a duration such as “over 20 years”.
  • Not every ranking site is based in Florida. Two are based elsewhere, one in Pennsylvania and one in Canada, and Thrive lists offices in many cities. We did not locate sites that show no address. All of them stay in the count because they ranked.

FAQ

How many agencies that rank in Florida publish their prices?

Eight of the 49 agency sites we checked, about 1 in 6, showed a service price. They rank across 10 Florida city searches, and the search day was October 17, 2026. Expect the figure to move as sites update their pages.

What do agencies charge for SEO?

It varies by agency and scope. The eight price pages listed above are the quickest way to see published figures, so open each one and check the current numbers. Good At Marketing publishes $1,000 to $1,600 a month for SEO, with about $3,500 in competitive markets, on its pricing page.

Why can’t I find a price on an agency website?

Many sites route price questions to a call. Look for a pricing page first, then the FAQ. If no figure appears, ask for a monthly range in your first conversation, before any proposal, and ask what the fee includes and what it leaves out.

Is a published price a sign of a better agency?

A published price shows what an agency will charge for a stated scope. By itself it says nothing about results or fit. Judge an agency on its scope, the people doing the work, and references you can call, then use price to compare like with like.

Do I need to see a price before I call an agency?

It helps. A range tells you early whether an agency fits your budget and saves a call that ends on price. If the site shows none, ask for a range before you share detailed business information or book a longer meeting.

How do I check an agency’s reviews and address?

Search the agency name on Google Maps and read the business profile: address, phone, review count and recent reviews. Compare the address with the one on the website and the contact page. A profile that matches the site is a good first check.
