What does the map show when Boca Raton searches for a dentist, a med spa or a lawyer?

Our Business Profile management page explains how Google ranks local results, so this section sticks to what a Boca Raton search showed.

On October 19, 2026 we searched Google for “dentist boca raton”. Sponsored listings came first, each with ratings, review counts and a line such as “Serves Boca Raton” or years in business. Below them, a Places list showed each business with a rating, a review count, how far it sat from the searcher, a street address and a one-line review excerpt. We name no business here, and a search from another spot or device can order the list differently.

Filter chips above the results included Open now, Top rated and Offering pediatric care. Google’s attributes page says that adding certain attributes might make a business appear in searches for places with those attributes, and that some attributes exist only for certain categories. Our reading: a searcher sees ratings, review counts and distance before your website, so the profile is often the first page of your practice.

To see who shares your map, search your own category and city in a private window, note who appears and how many reviews each has, then search again from another part of town. Keep one sheet with what you find: who appears, how many reviews each has, and what filters or booking links their listings show. That sheet makes a useful brief for your first call with any agency, including us.

In our October 19 search, the first three organic listings in the Places list showed ratings in the high 4s on 264, about 1,500 and about 1,400 reviews. We checked three listings on one day, so results may differ by location. The counts show what a new Boca Raton profile may be compared with, and they do not show what any profile needs in order to appear.

Those three listings were also 11.8 to 12.7 miles from the browser we searched with, which was not in Boca Raton, so a searcher in the city would see distances and an order of their own.

Our reading of that results page: the Places list leans on distance and a review excerpt, and an owner can edit neither. That leaves the profile fields, the photos, the booking link and the review count as the parts a practice can work on, and the name, the booking link and the photos are the quickest to check.

Paid placements sit above the Places list, as that search showed, and a profile plan does not buy them. Google Ads management is $600 to $1,000 a month plus ad spend, and Local Services Ads management is $200 to $1,000 a month plus Google’s per-lead charge, both on the pricing page.

When someone asks ChatGPT who to call, the business it names is the one that gets searched next. We do AI visibility alongside SEO, never instead of it. In our study of 120 AI answers, no two of the three engines named the same business for the Boca Raton dentist question, and only one other question out of 40 ended that way.

What should a Boca Raton Business Profile plan cover each month?

The table takes each item the Places list showed on October 19 and sets it against who controls it and what a monthly plan should cover. Google’s help pages describe each job, and the cost guide explains the price range.

What the Places list showedWho controls itWhat a plan should cover
RatingClients, through their reviewsSame review request to every client, a reply to each review

An owner can do the work in the last column without an agency. Paying for management makes sense when nobody in your office can check and update the profile every month. The risk comes later, for example when a booking link points to a retired tool or the photos show an old waiting room.

The last column works as a self-test. If nobody in your office does those jobs each month, a management plan is worth pricing. If someone does, a quarterly check may be enough. A plan includes a monthly report, and you can ask any agency, including us, to show the scope in writing before you pay.

Timing matters for the report. Google’s performance page says search-term data is updated at the start of each month and can take up to 5 days to show up. Google’s attributes page says edits to attributes usually take about 10 minutes to review but sometimes up to 30 days, so a change made late in a month may not appear in that month’s figures.

Before you hire anyone for a Boca Raton profile, ask which of the jobs in that last column are inside the monthly price, and which actions the report counts, with a date on each figure. Then ask who checks the profile name against Google’s guidelines, since a name that breaks them could lead to suspension of the profile.

Who is a Boca Raton Business Profile plan for?

These three Boca Raton buyers are the ones we would price for first: a firm, a dental or medical practice and a med spa. This is our view, and we have not measured them against each other.

A firm with partners and a long name. A firm named for its partners, with a practice area or the city in its trading name, may carry a profile name that Google’s guidelines do not allow. A plan gives someone the job of checking it, and the check is small: compare the profile name with your sign and your website. Firms weighing the whole mix can start from the legal marketing page.

A dental or medical practice that takes new patients. A searcher compares ratings, review counts and distance, then looks for a way to book. A booking link, a phone number that matches the website and current photos give that person a route from the profile itself. Google’s performance page counts bookings only when they are managed through a booking provider. Google’s local ranking page links reviews and ratings to local ranking, and says replies to reviews show customers you value their feedback.

A med spa or aesthetics practice. The profile photos, the services listed and the reviews do the work of a shopfront, because the searcher cannot walk past the door. Google’s photo tips say photos should show reality, with no significant alterations or excessive use of filters or AI. Raise that before a practice uploads edited images.

If you can do only one thing this month, our view is that the firm should check its profile name, the dental or medical practice should add a booking link, and the med spa should replace any edited photos with unfiltered ones.

A business that has no public location and travels to customers is a different case, and the questions on our service page cover it.

FAQ

How much should a Boca Raton firm or practice budget for Business Profile management?

Budget $450 to $650 a month for our Business Profile management, the range on the pricing page, reviewed October 2026. Ad spend and website work are separate lines. Ask for the scope in writing and check it against the table above before you agree a figure.

Can a firm’s profile name include its practice areas or the city?

Google’s guidelines say the name should be the one customers know from your sign and website, and that unnecessary information in a name could result in suspension of the profile. Its list of disallowed content includes taglines and service descriptions. Your bar may have its own rules on firm names, so check with it.

How do patients book from a dental or med spa profile?

Google’s help page on local business links says to choose Booking in Search, or Edit profile in Maps, then Add link and enter the URL. It allows up to 10 links per category. Third-party booking links can show up on their own, and the owner can mark one link as preferred.

What can we see in the Business Profile performance report?

Google’s performance page reports views and searches, plus actions such as direction requests and website clicks. Calls count clicks on the call button, not answered calls. Only the metrics that apply to your business appear, and the data covers activity from organic search and from Google Ads.

Should an appointment-only practice list opening hours?

Google’s guidelines say a business that operates only by appointment should not provide hours. A practice with posted front-desk hours is a different case, so read the guideline against how your office runs. Keep the profile consistent with your website.

What photo and video formats does Google accept?

Google accepts JPG or PNG photos between 10 KB and 5 MB and recommends 720 by 720 pixels. Videos can run up to 30 seconds and 75 MB at 720p or higher. Its tips suggest at least three exterior photos, three interior photos and three team photos, a plain checklist for a practice.
